I’m gonna scrap my current bag of assorted clubs and go 100% Titleist. Titleist are winners.

Yeah but where’s the flow-neck version of this putter for retail? bogus

Anyone else notice that his 716MB’s are satin finish as opposed to the full chrome? Love that look.
Chuck
Jan 9, 2017 at 4:59 pm
You can duplicate the exact look of those MB’s, with a ScotchGard pad from the supermarket or hardware store, and about 6-8 hours of scrubbing time while you watch a tournament on tv over a weekend.
I am totally serious. And I am not making fun of you, because I agree with you and I much prefer that look, and I have done it to virtually all of my chrome Vokeys.
It does nothing, to compromise the integrity of the factory chrome.

Agreed, definitely not difficult to do, but not easy to do well. I’ve accomplished similar effect on Vapor Pro irons with a dremel taking off the black PVD finish. The rest of hat head is already darn though. I wish the 716’s were offered in satin. Maybe the ‘718?’ Models will be.

Why not showing putter? Would be more complete.

Why don’t you show the putter? Would be more interesting and complete…40% of his game.

I am interested in Justin’s 46 degree Vokey. It has to be a custom tour-only grind. There is no 46-10 retail Vokey.
Reason I make this point is to suggest very strongly to the Acushnet/Titleist/Vokey guys, that they do something along these lines for retail.
Currently the only retail offering is a 46-08. If you bend that down, to 45 or 44 degrees, you lose too much bounce. It there was a 44-08, you could have a lot more effective choices for what would effectively be a Vokey Pitching Wedge. (Play it at 44, or bend to 45 or 46 with lots of bounce, or bend-and-grind together, etc.)
I think that with irons getting stronger, and with more irons going to hollow body construction (T-MB, for instance), and with the general love of Vokeys, there is going to be more and more demand for lower lofts.

I’m sure when the people who run titleist read your comment they’ll take this into consideration.

Jay, that is exactly what I expect.
And I think a lot more of them, for doing it. I’d think less of them, if they laughed off Golf WRX.

How about Voke starts with a forged version first….

Great comment. We need more grind/bounce options offered at retail…Especially Higher Bounce options in the PW range lofts. I am constantly disappointed in the major oems in this regard.

There was a SM5 46.10F grind wedge on tour, a bunch of guys used it, I have one. but so far there is no SM6 46.10F if you see some other pics of his bag on other sites you can clearly see it is a 46.08F SM6. Looks like WRX guys just changed it from SM5 to SM6 and forgot to update the bounce.
I agree more bounce options in the 46-48* would be nice, problem is they really don’t sell a ton of Vokey PW’s to warrant the extra cost to make it for retail.

It’s a 46-08 bent 1.5degrees, so it’s a 47.5-9.5

His right heel comes off the ground so high and early it’s amazing how well balanced his swing is while squaring the face and rotating his hips. So many people out there tell you to keep your right heel down until impact. I guess if you’re this good it doesn’t matter what you do.

His dad said about his right foot, “It’s another part of the personality of his swing,” his father says. “We worked on keeping it down, and he couldn’t hit the ball at all. So we forgot about that.” Thomas also notes that Justin’s hips have turned much more than his shoulders through impact.

Analyze this back-breaking swing and tell us how long he has left to play

Honestly, I was just thinking about that. It’s no secret that youth is playing a big part as to how he swings now. He will have to change come the future. Injuries are coming his way, if he is not dealing with something or another already. It is all on how he sees his golf career being routed. He can play til he drops, or take heed of the body and plot for the long and the steady. It’s his game so it will be done his way!
